Claire Wilson

In Loving Memory of

Claire Wilson

A Daughter of the Confederacy

†††††††††††† Treasure your loved ones because we lost another beloved member of the Chapter. Claire Wilson passed on August 21, 2018. She was a sweat soft spoken lady who will be missed.

†††††††††††† I was surprised to find that Claire had a bachelorís degree in Home Economics and Dietary Science from Madison College. I do remember her telling

of her years as a school teacher. She would tell us that some years were harder than others. Iím not surprised to find that she was a faithful woman having taught Sunday school at Ringgold Baptist Church which she was also a member of.

†††††††††††† As well as being a 30-year member and former president of the Anne Eliza Johns Chapter, she was also a member of the following: Joseph Gravely Chapter of the Daughters of the Revolution and Delta Kappa Gamma. In her obituary, it mentions her late husband William Wilson III, to whom she married April 4, 1947, as well as her children. It continues to state 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and, something rarely heard of, one great-great-grandchild.

†††††††††††† We still have members that remember her and will feel her absence from the meetings. She was a lovable likeable soul. We wish more people could have met her.
